Gentrepreneur Awards 2022
Tiebe Parmentier from Tekst.ai is crowd favourite!
The Gentrepreneur Student Entrepreneur 2022 has been announced. The prize goes to Zoë De Cock from HOGENT. Still, we can be proud of our three candidates from Ghent University. Despite the strong pitch and defence of Jack Lathouwers of Gutsy in the final, he just missed out on the main prize. With his smooth talk, and the occasional joke in between, he had the whole audience in his story!
And we certainly did not go home empty-handed, as Ghent University won the public’s favourite prize. This prize went to none other than Tiebe Parmentier of Tekst.ai.
It is a fact that we were proud of our 3 selected UGent’ers before the competition started. We are curious which stories these three will have to tell us in 10 years’ time.
Congratulations to all candidates for their participation in this wonderful show of Gentrepreneur!

The nominees for Ghent University
On 10 May 2022 we’ll discover who the Gentrepreneur Student Entrepreneur of the Year is during the Gentrepreneur Awards 2022. This award is being handed out for the 12th time. The evening kicks off with the nominees who have passed the preliminary rounds within the various higher education institutions. For UGent, these are Egon Gevaert from Storything and Zoomers, Tiebe Parmentier from Tekst.ai and Jack Lathouwers from Gutsy. We get to know them better and the audience decides live who will be the finalist per educational institute. These finalists will compete during a live pitch before a jury and the audience. Together, they will decide who will win the big prize of the evening.
All three nominees have a link with DO! They were coached and mentored here, and all three have participated in Expedition DO!, the pre-acceleration trajectory of UGent. Jack and co-founder Achilles of Gutsy won the edition in 2021, Tiebe made it to the finals of 2021 together with co-founder Wouter, and Egon is participating in the current edition (2022) with co-founder Caroline in a totally new concept.
