What ?

Between October and December 2023, student teams with great entrepreneurial ideas in the sectors of mobility, manufacturing, circular economy, food and health can team up with international teams.

They will create a business model canvas and pitch their idea to industry experts. In addition, they can win rewards and prepare for startup creation!

Start for Future ?

Start For Future is an alliance for open entrepreneurship and co-creation, supported by more than 20 European universities, their associated partners and the European Institute for Innovation & Technology (EIT).

Students from the below international universities & incubators will be matched with each other during the ‘Learn’ programme to turn their startup idea into reality.

The Start For Future Learn programme empowers student entrepreneurship by challenging students to:

  • think with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • develop innovative solutions to current innovation challenges of EIT Urban Mobility, Manufacturing, Health, Food & Raw Materials
  • interface and work together with a tandem team through international exchange
  • pitch to international EIT industry experts
  • make their idea ready for startup creation!
  • students whose course participates in the ‘Learn’ programme
  • students outside of a participating course who form a team, consisting of at least 2 people
  • students from a HEIs alliance
  • students from a HEI partner university

Students that join Start For Future Learn enjoy a number of benefits:

'Learn' schedule

Between the 23rd of October and 11th of December 2023, ‘Learn’ teams participate in 5 international sessions (in total 7,5 hours of international exchange).

The sessions will be online video conferences, and follow the course of the schedule below. Your team can choose to be in the early or the late sessions. Choose wisely, because switching mid track is not allowed.

23 Oct: Start For Future Kickoff & EIT input
Start For Future presents the programme and EIT experts provide input.
12:00-13:30 CET or 16:00-17:30 CET
30 Oct: Project team & peer feedback
Teams present their project and will be matched to a tandem team.
12:00-13:30 CET or 16:00-17:30 CET
13 Nov: Feedback of experts and tandem team
Pitch your project to an industry expert & get feedback
12:00-13:00 CET or 16:00-17:00 CET
27 Nov: business model & pitch preparation
Present your business model to an expert and prepare your pitch.
12:00-13:00 CET or 16:00-17:00 CET
11 Dec: Final pitch & rewards ceremony
Pitch your project and win a nice EIT prize.

Project complete: what's next?

Pitching your idea at the final presentations is not necessarily the end. Motivated teams with a strong, viable project can choose to take their idea further. They can do so during the Match & Start phase and eventually join one of the International Open Incubators of the Develop & Co-create programme, such as Expedition DO!
